The Warm Women of the North

This group of wild and wonderful women started out in 2000 with the introduction of Chick Jam, as once a month jam of women and girls of all ages. It takes place the 2nd Sunday of every month at the Amazing Grace Bakery.

Kim, along with Lori Hatten, and Beverly Johnson, host this group of women who are on stage to help and support other women to get out and perform. The Warm Women group formed from that trio, into a group of performers that raise money for Breast Cancer with a yearly concert. This concert welcomes other women and girls from the community to share their talents with the audience and help in the fight against cancer.

Kim Curtis-Monson heads the group playing guitar, mandolin and stand-up bass, Lori Hatten plays guitar and percussion, Beverly Johnson plays any set of keys (piano and her baby organ) along with a psaltry ( a small stringed instrument played with a bow). Ellie Schoenfeld is a Duluth poet who has written her own book of delightful poetry called The Dark Honey. These ladies intertwine beautiful ballads and original tunes with Ellie's gift of words and complete their act with witty banter and possibly a visit from the Helga, the Norwegian Wonder.

To say their act is warm would be an understatement, these women are HOT!
